¿Quién soy?

I am a small Amazonian primate. My coat has grayish and reddish hues. My round head is small, and I have a white band or “eyebrow” over the eyes characteristic of my species. My long bushy tail is not prehensile. I am very active during the daytime and have arboreal activity. I enjoy living in family groups of up to 7 individuals.

¿De qué me alimento?

I eat mainly leaves, flowers, stems, and fruits of up to 30 different plant species; the Fabaceae family plant is my favorite.

¿Dónde vivo?

You can find me in the humid forests to the east of Ecuador, north of Peru (Loreto), and Colombia (Putumayo).

Do they entwine their tails?

Red titi monkeys have different behaviors from other primates because they entwine their tails (or cross them). This behavior happens between two or more primates that twist their tails as strengthening family ties.
