¿Quién soy?
I am an Amazonian primate, my fur is deep reddish-brown, and my long prehensile tail can measure up to 75 cm long. My family clan can have approximately ten individuals, where there are only one or two males. We are famous for our "dawn call", a howl so powerful that can be heard from a great distance. It helps us locate other groups of howler monkeys that live close to our territory.
¿De qué me alimento?
I have a mainly folivorous diet; I eat a great variety of young leaves, and in smaller quantities, fruit, and flowers when they are available.
¿Dónde vivo?
I am a typical species of the rainforests and you will find me from Colombia to Bolivia. In Peru, I live in the departments of Cajamarca, Amazonas, Loreto, San Martín, Ucayali, Huánuco, Pasco, Junín, Cusco, Madre de Dios and Puno.

¿Aullidos al amanecer?
Gracias a algunas modificaciones de mi aparato bucal y a la presencia de sacos laríngeos, que se hinchan y forman grandes cámaras de resonancia, mis aullidos pueden escucharse a más de 4 km de distancia.
