¿Quién soy?

Humans also call me "Common squirrel monkey". I am a small primate with daytime activity and arboreal preferences. My coat is olive-gold, and I have a white fur mask around my eyes. My tail is non-prehensile and tends to rest on my shoulders; sometimes, it curls up; that is why people call me squirrel monkey. Only females of my species take care of the infants until they are independent.

¿De qué me alimento?

My diet consists mainly of fruits and insects; also, I can eat various leaves and seeds. Some studies indicate that females of my species eat more insects than males.

¿Dónde vivo?

I live at different altitudes in the forest canopy. Also, I have been seen on the ground foraging for food in the litter. You can find me from Colombia to Peru.

Does union make force?

We are a very active species in the food search, that is why we usually ally with groups of Capuchin monkeys (Cebus sp.) to take advantage of their food search.
