I am a species well known for the quality and texture of my fiber, which is the finest among camelids and natural animal fibers. My fur is white on the chest and belly. The rest of my body is light brown. I am a very territorial gregarious species.

My favorite food is grasses and non-woody herbs.

¿Dónde vivo?

I live in the puna and the high Andean region, traveling through open areas above 3300 meters above sea level, especially in wetlands or plains with grasslands. You can find me in Peru, Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina.

A well-defined hierarchy. 

We are gregarious mammals, and basically, we can live in two groups: 1) Family groups, consisting of an adult male, two or more females, and young. 2) Bachelor groups of young males and single adults. We can also live alone.
