¿Quién soy?
I am the second-largest feline on the American continent. Unlike jaguars and other cats of the Panthera genus, we cannot roar, but we can purr like cats. My body is slim with muscular limbs. The coloration of my coat can be brownish red, grayish, and yellowish-orange. My tail is long and thick with a dark tip.
¿De qué me alimento?
I feed on small mammals (e.g., rabbits, rodents, squirrels.) or large (e.g., deer, peccaries), and sometimes I can capture birds and reptiles.
¿Dónde vivo?
I live in a wide variety of habitats, including coniferous forests, tropical forests, grasslands, swamps, dry forests, among others. You can find me throughout the American territory, from Canada to Argentina and Chile.
Para que me conozcas mejor
