I am a huge running bird. Males of my species have black and white plumage, while females are brown. My powerful legs are my principal defense against enemies. I can reach speeds of up to 65 km /. I am a gregarious bird, and I usually live in groups of 5 to 50 individuals.

My diet is mainly herbivorous and I eat various types of grasses, herbs, seeds, and flowers. I can occasionally eat carrion.
