I am a well-known domestic mammal. I have thick skin covered by short thick hair. I have a long conical head, a short neck, and a robust barrel-shaped body. I am mainly active at night or twilight, and I am a great runner and swimmer. I am a social mammal, and I live under human care.

I am an omnivorous species. My varied diet can include industrial concentrates, tubers, bulbs, grains, nuts, invertebrates, and even carrion.

I can live in a wide variety of habitats and different countries, where I am usually always under human care; although, there are populations of wild pigs that have caused negative impacts on the ecosystems where they live..
