¿Quién soy?
I am the largest feline on the American continent. I have highly developed musculature, square jaws, and prominent cheeks. The color of my coat can vary from pale yellow to reddish-brown, with black spots in the form of rosettes. There are black jaguars like me, called melanistic jaguars. Feline melanism is the result of a natural genetic variation.
¿De qué me alimento?
I am a strict carnivore; my diet includes up to 85 different animal species. My favorite preys are peccaries, tapirs, and deer. I can also hunt alligators, turtles, snakes, fish, and large birds.
¿Dónde vivo?
I have been seen from the United States of America to Argentina. I prefer to live in dense and tropical forests, although you can also find me in bushes, coastal forests, and swamps.

How much strength do I have in my jaws?
My bite force is so powerful that I can easily break the shells of the turtles I hunt, as well as the skulls of peccaries and tapirs. My bite is twice as strong as a lion's bite.
