¿Quién soy?
I am a semi-aquatic mammal of diurnal activities. My coat is short, dense, and glossy-looking greyish brown. My tail is long, wide, and quite thick. I have webbed feet which help me to dive skillfully. I like to use any available cave or hole as a shelter.
¿De qué me alimento?
I eat mainly fish, mollusks, and crustaceans. Occasionally I can capture small mammals, birds, reptiles, and insects.
¿Dónde vivo?
I live in burrows near water bodies in tropical and Amazonian forests. You can find me from Mexico to Argentina and Uruguay.

Communication between otters.
Although we prefer to live alone, we communicate with other otters through olfactory marks and signals through the feces we leave on rocks and logs. We also perform vocalizations such as grunts or loud high-pitched sounds in case of danger.
