¿Quién soy?

My plumage is deep green. You can recognize me by my bright red or orange forehead. I present a red patch on my shoulders. My tail feathers are greenish-blue and yellow underneath. When we form a couple, we do it for a lifetime.

I have a herbivorous diet, eating fruits, nuts, and some herbs and grasses.

¿Dónde vivo?

I am an endemic species confined to small areas of inter-Andean dry valleys and forests of Bolivia.

How do we communicate between macaws? 

In addition to the loud vocalizations that characterize us, we have many tactile forms of communication, such as grooming, and the gentle pecking of facial feathers that help us strengthen our family ties.
