I am a colorful bird with soft bright red, green, blue, and yellow plumage. My white face has fine red feathers. There are not a lot of differences between males and females of my species. When we form couples, we share the raising of our chicks.

I am a granivorous bird; I like seeds, fruit pulp, and flowers.
¿Dónde vivo?
We live in the tallest trees in the Amazon near water bodies and clay sources. You can find us from Panama to Argentina.

Confusion between macaws?
It is common for us to be confused with the scarlet macaws (Ara macao) since the color of our plumage is similar. However, scarlet macaws do not have fine green feathers on their faces.
