¿Quién soy?
I am a medium-sized raptor. Adults of my species have reddish plumage with gray spots on the back and a thin black stripe on the underside of the back. My wings are long and wide, with black and white bands. I usually nest in the upper part of the trees, in nests made with branches and grass, where I place a single egg.

I am a skilled hunter, and I can feed on small mammals, lizards, snakes, crustaceans, and large insects.
¿Dónde vivo?
I like to live in open savannahs and edges of swamps. You can find me from Panama to Argentina and Uruguay.

How is our hunting strategy? Usually, we are standing on high branches from where we dive on our prey, but we can also hunt "on foot" when we gather near field fires waiting for small mammals or reptiles to run away from the place.
