¿Quién soy?
My striking red and orange crest distinguishes me from other species of birds. I have black and white feathers that cover my back and wings. Females of my species have reddish-brown plumage, the perfect camouflage for hiding from predators. I prefer building my nests in rocky areas of the forest; that is why people call me Andean Cock-of-the-Rock.
¿De qué me alimento?
My diet consists mainly of fruits, which is why I am considered a very important seed disperser. To complement my diet, I can eat insects and small vertebrates.
¿Dónde vivo?
I live in the mountainous and forest regions of Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

Do you know what leks are?
Males of my species perform a variety of vocalizations, jumps, turns, and flamboyant dances to attract mates. These courtship displays are known as leks.
