I am a rodent of diurnal activity. I like to live alone or in couples with my young. My coat is gray with whitish and reddish hues, while my tail and legs are black. My senses of hearing and smell are highly developed, which allows me to be constantly alert to any danger. I have an important role in the Amazon ecosystem as a seed disperser.

My diet consists of fruits, plants, and various succulents.

I like to live in forests, bushes, savannas, and crops. You can find me in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil.
