¿Quién soy?
I am a daytime and terrestrial iguana. The color of my scales ranges from brown to green to turquoise, with dark cross stripes and light edges on the belly. I have pearly scales under the eardrum, which differentiates me from other species of iguanas. I like to sunbathe for hours on the branches or trunks of the trees where I usually live.
¿De qué me alimento?
I eat mainly high protein leaves, fruits, and flowers. Occasionally I can eat carrion or small invertebrates.
¿Dónde vivo?
I live in lowland forests close to streams, rivers, and lakes. You can find me from Mexico to Peru and Brazil.
