¿Quién soy?
I am a very long reptile. My scales are greenish-brown with black and yellow spots throughout my body. I am a constrictor snake; this means that I capture and kill my prey through strangling movements that stop them from breathing. My jaw can be open wide, so it let me swallow my whole prey. The digestion process can take several weeks.
¿De qué me alimento?
I can capture a large variety of species to feed, such as large rodents, deer, fish, peccaries, capybaras, tapirs, alligators, and even jaguars.
¿Dónde vivo?
You can find me from Venezuela to Bolivia. I prefer to stay hidden in the lakes or swamps waiting for my future prey, but I can also rest in trees and pounce from the branches to catch a distracted peccary.

How can I find a partner?
I can feel approaching animals through vibrations. Through my forked tongue (split in two), and a specialized organ called the Jacobson's organ, I can detect chemical signals in the air. In this way, males of my species can detect pheromones from nearby females during the breeding season.
