My shell is elongated, smooth, and black with striking color patterns. My body is flat, which helps me swim very well. My head and webbed feet are black with orange or yellow stripes. My nose looks like a trumpet, which allows me to breathe without moving from the bottom of lakes or aquariums.

I am a carnivorous turtle. My diet includes fish, mice, and carrion.

Fierce turtles? Apparently, we are very calm turtles who like to take short sunbaths, however, we are extremely territorial and aggressive in case we feel threatened. That is why my scientific name "ferox" means fierce, it explains my behavior very well.
